14 tips for the perfect smoke

1

Keep the Balance

An important prerequisite for a pleasant smoking experience is not only a pleasant environment but also the humidity of your cigar.
An optimal cigar climate is at a temperature of 20 – 21°C and a relative humidity of max. 65% in the summer and max. 70% in the winter. Warm air absorbs more moisture than cold air.
The wine cellar is an ideal place to place the humidor.

2

Just right

If a cigar is too dry, it is stronger and more intense when smoking. If it is too moist, it will not burn properly.

3

CONNECTICUT VS. MADURO

Our Maduro Collection needs a little less humidity than the Connecticut Collection.

4

ROAST

You can briefly roast your cigar before lighting it. This is how you extract and intensify the various aromas. This should be done from a distance. Hold the fire at a 45° angle to the cigar and light it slowly.

5

Light up

Your cigar should be lighted until its base is completely glowing and a first fine layer of ash has formed.

6

Cleansing

A cigar may also be blown out during the smoke. In this way it is purified of nitrogen and regains its freshness and mildness.

7

NOT A CIGARETTE

The ashes should not be knocked off like with a cigarette; they have a cooling effect.

8

TAKE IT EASY

Too frequent or excessive puffing will heat up the cigar and change its taste. It thus becomes stronger and more aggressive. Prevent your cigar from heating up.

9

MOVE IT

A cigar should be turned occasionally in one’s hand in order for the burning behaviour to become more regular.

10

HANDMADE

A cigar is a hand-made product. Each one is therefore rolled slightly differently, which can have an effect on the draw resistance. The adjustment of one’s own draw behaviour in regard to the cigar helps to develop the optimum taste experience.

11

Maintenance

If the draw of the cigar is not optimal, it may be in need of further cutting. A groove can also be formed with a toothpick or a small drill. Sometimes small leaves are responsible for this.

12

KEEP HER WET

A too dry cigar is not necessarily lost! As long as its wrapper isn’t damaged, its still good to go. In order to be enjoyable again, it only needs to regain the optimal moisture level.

13

COMMUNICATE

Smoking a cigar is like a conversation. The cigar and its smoker should communicate with one another and at the same time adapt to each other. Each cigar requires a different smoking approach in order to develop the full variety of flavours and aromas.

14

THIS IS WHERE THE FIRE IS

Take your time when smoking a cigar.
And some more time.
And after that still a little more time.
Whether as a slowdown of day-to-day life or as the pinnacle of an already perfect moment.
